wisdom teeth serve exactly no purpose other than fucking hurting and making your gums swell up and bleed.

you know the eternal struggle of finding the right framerate, bitrate, codec and format that will allow your beloved video to be displayed on the recipients computer without hickups? evidently, long gone with youtube, google video and the likes.

but more interesting is how youtube redefined the concept of ‘good enough’. crappy quality videos proliferating. due to their content, of course, but also due to how damn easy they are to view.

i know, i know. stating the obvious. preaching to the choir. but there’s a thread somewhere amidst the blatant. there is notice to be taken about making, and keeping, things simple.

it’s fun to be a fanboi.

so somebody makes a silly flash game of zidane headbutting materazzi, but the site where it’s hosted quickly gets dugg to death. i make a copy of the .swf and post it to zappa.cc/zidane for the sake of showing it to friends.

hours later my orkut scrapbook are inundated with people thanking me for the cool game. the link is showing up in dozens and dozens of blog search engines, showing up on folha.com.br and terra.com.br and god knows what more. almost 200.000 hits, and that’s with godaddy’s insane bandwidth throttling that makes you have to reload the page until it comes up.

and no, no banners, no adsense, no links on that page. i did not create the game — let alone ask for permission to host it. profiting from this would be wrong.

so i ran into kevin kelly on friday. at thenextweb seminar. talked to him for a few moments. asked him about the singularity (doesn’t believe in it), asked him about the technium (will become a book), pitched teknologio to him (he said it’s cool, but people like him don’t have time to write for it) and he asked about me (where i’m from, what i’m doing here, etc.). nice guy.

the seminar, too, was great. plazes and widsets in particular. really liked pemberton’s w3c cred.

so i ran into zach braff over the weekend. he was all over amsterdam. no clue why. got some photos of him shirt-less – much better than the ones currently on gossip sites, but i can’t be bothered to submit them myself.
